Director, Advanced Harmony and Songwriting

Cecil E. Price was raised in Houston, Texas, where he graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. An active student leader, he held office in several organizations and directed the school chorus during his senior year.

He earned a degree in Music Education from Harding University in 1978 and has served in full-time ministry since 1979, including twenty years in youth ministry. From 2002 to 2016, he preached at the Sierra Vista Church of Christ in Arizona. He has spoken and led singing at numerous youth rallies and lectureships and has served on the boards of several Christian organizations.

Cecil has been involved in music since childhood, singing in choruses and quartets, teaching music, and leading seminars. His connection to FSCM began in 1970, and he has served as a student, counselor, instructor, and director since 1997. He teaches harmony, songwriting, and song leading and has written many songs in both sacred and secular genres.

Cecil and his wife, Nicky, have been married nearly 44 years and have four children and one grandson.

Co-Director, Beginning Harmony, Song Leading, Sight Reading

Wade Price has served on the FSCM staff for over 35 years and attended the camp’s first sessions in the 1960s. He has a lifelong passion for singing and church music.

He has led singing for congregations in the Houston area for more than 55 years and has served as a youth minister, Bible class teacher, deacon, and elder. He recently retired from a career in the oil and gas industry.

Wade writes and arranges music for himself and other songwriters and prepares materials for print and presentation. He also teaches Song Leader Workshops and Singing Emphasis events. He serves on the board of the Baxter Foundation, supporting Christian education in Honduras.

Wade and his wife, Sarah, have four daughters and enjoy singing together as a family, along with their grandchildren.

Intermediate Theory II, Advanced Worship Leading

John Connel grew up in Texas as the son of a preacher and the oldest of four siblings. He earned a Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Abilene Christian University and completed graduate work in education at Georgia State University.

After two years in youth ministry, he joined Greater Atlanta Christian School, where he has taught middle school Bible since 1990. He has directed a drama group, co-sponsored a service club, and led chapel for elementary and early childhood students.

John and his wife, Suzanne, married in 1989 and have four sons: Matthew, David, Joseph, and Adam. They are active members of the Campus Church of Christ, where they have served in children’s ministry.

John enjoys leading worship and writing songs. Each summer, he teaches at FSCM and the Haskell Singing School.

Intermediate Theory, Beginning Worship Leading, Music Notation

Nathan Wight joined the FSCM staff in 2008. Raised on a ranch in West Texas, he attended FSCM as a student for nearly a decade beginning in 1978, an experience that helped shape both his musical and spiritual life.

He holds music degrees from Abilene Christian University, Rice University, and Arizona State University. Nathan spent twenty years teaching voice and directing opera at Jacksonville State University before retiring from academic life.

He serves as a deacon overseeing benevolence at his congregation in Gadsden, Alabama. Nathan and his wife, Cheryl, married in 1995 and have four children: Samuel, Peter, Clara, and Andrew.

Throughout his life, Nathan has sought to use music and ministry to teach, encourage, and serve others.

Younger Beginner Theory, Women's Chorus

Cheryl Price joined the FSCM staff in 2004, teaching younger beginners alongside her sister, Laura. She grew up in a musical family and has attended FSCM since 1990 as a student, counselor, and teacher.

She earned a Bachelor of Education from Abilene Christian University and a Master of Education in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University. Cheryl teaches fourth grade in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District.

She is passionate about singing with others and encouraging young musicians. FSCM holds a special place in her life, where she has formed many meaningful relationships and continues to honor its rich legacy.

Younger Beginner Theory, Women's Chorus

Laura Price-Miller has been part of the FSCM staff since 2004 and first attended as a student in 1992. She has served as a counselor and now teaches younger beginners alongside her sister, Cheryl. She also co-directs the Women’s Chorus.

Laura earned a degree in Music Education from Abilene Christian University and spent 18 years teaching choir and elementary music in Katy ISD. She now works in the security technology industry.

She is the mother of four children—Aubrey, Sadie, Terry, and Treyton—all of whom attend FSCM. Laura considers it a joy to teach and serve through music.

Older Beginner Theory, Beginning Worship Leading

Caleb Blakeney began attending FSCM as a camper in 2003 and joined the staff in 2011. He holds a degree in Music Education from Lubbock Christian University.

He currently serves as Associate Director of Bands for Idalou ISD in Texas and has over a decade of experience in public school music education.

Caleb and his wife, Leah, welcomed their daughter Elizabeth in 2026. He is passionate about worship leading and believes music is a powerful gift that inspires, encourages, and brings joy.

Assistant, Advanced Harmony; Music Notation; Women’s Chorus

Mary Price began attending FSCM in 1998 and now assists with advanced harmony, music notation, and co-directs the Women’s Chorus.

She holds a degree in Music Education from Sam Houston State University and has 18 years of experience in choral music and teaching. Mary enjoys writing and arranging music for both church and choir settings.

Kitchen Coordinator, Head Chef

Sarah Price has served as FSCM’s Kitchen Manager and Head Chef since 2003. She and her husband, Wade, have been married for 50 years and have four daughters and seven grandchildren.

She spent many years teaching private piano, singing in community choruses, and working as a Language Arts teacher and curriculum coach before retiring. She attends Memorial Church of Christ in Houston.

Sarah finds great joy in serving others and sharing music with her family.

Nurse

Lindsey Price joined the FSCM staff as the on-site nurse in 2022, though she has served in various roles since first attending in 2001.

She is an active member of Memorial Church of Christ, where she teaches Bible classes, leads small groups, and participates in women’s ministry. Lindsey also teaches Bible, music, and art at Friendship School, the church’s preschool.

Assistant Kitchen Manager, Assistant Chef

Lacey Price began assisting in the FSCM kitchen in 2022. She first attended as a student in 2001 and later served as a counselor.

A graduate of Sam Houston State University, she works in the Financial Aid office and lives in Huntsville, Texas. She is active in her church and serves on the board of Las Damas de Baxter, supporting Christian education in Honduras.
